Drawings of socially distant friends in the time of COVID-19
In March of 2020, as with so many other things, my weekly life-drawing sessions were shut down until a safer time.
In order to keep up my practice I relied on the kindness of friends, asking each to email me a selfie to draw. Making images of folks I know and care about was a wonderful strategy for getting around being socially distant. In fact, it was a gift during that uncertain time to be able to spend an hour or two closely studying and drawing each familiar and missed face – even if only virtually.
